Volunteer for Families in Transition Event, 11/12/11
The Families in Transition (F.I.T.) Program with Seminole County Public Schools has identified over 900 homeless children in Seminole County since the start of the school year. The F.I.T. Program seeks to support our homeless families in achieving stabilization by providing the opportunity and insight on how to access services available in the community. To continue this effort, the Families in Transition Program will be hosting their 6th Annual Event, “A Day of Magical Connections,” on Saturday November 12, 2011 from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm at Winter Springs High School. This event is a resource fair that provides our 250+ families with a “one-stop-shop” day of connecting and accessing services from over 50+ community agencies.
To make this event successful and beneficial for our homeless families, we need the support and enthusiasm of adult volunteers like you! Please complete and return the Volunteer Application.
Volunteers are also required to register as a “Dividend Volunteer” with Seminole County Public Schools and attend a one-hour training session prior to the event. Dividend registration instructions as well as training dates, times, and locations will be provided upon receipt of your application. Please feel free to contact the Families in Transition program via phone with any questions. For more information, please see the Volunteer Letter from Families in Transition.

I submitted my application a few weeks ago to help with the event tomorrow to the Families in Transition event but have not gotten any information. I did register with the Dividends. I didn’t know if I should go ahead and come to help.
Please let me know. Rebecca Carpenter
Rebecca,
While HSN has helped promote this event, we’re not handling the volunteer management. Please contact the Families in Transition program directly: 407-746-8518.
