What is Rapid Rehousing?

  • “individuals and families who are experiencing homelessness (residing in emergency… or on the street) and need temporary assistance in order to obtain housing and retain it” (HUD Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing (HPRP) Notice, March 19, 2009)
  • The time frame for Rapid Rehousing assistance is usually 3-6 months, but the maximum amount is 12 months
  • Right now, our CoC has over 6 different Rapid Rehousing Agencies
