Outreach Specialist/PATH Team

Job Responsibilities: Provides outreach to Seminole County residents who are homeless and have an axis 1 diagnosis. Provides outreach, information and referral to homeless persons who meet PATH criteria. Conducts visits to the jail to provide outreach services. Conducts outreach in the community and completes referrals to appropriate services in a timely manner. Assists clients with initiating and/or reinstating benefits and placement when not assigned to Case Management. Assists clients with negotiating the criminal justice system and advocates for diversion when appropriate. Serves as a representative to designated committees for community planning and development of activities and services.

Qualifications: Master’s Degree in Social Work, Criminology, Sociology, Psychology, or related Human Services field preferred, Bachelor’s Degree required. Two years experience with target population preferred.

• Developing workshops for the Roundtable to highlight faith programs that are working, educate congregations about existing community resources and the gaps in service, and assist them in designing programs that will effectively assist the homeless to return to self-sufficiency

The Case Manager is responsible for the Social Work functions of Shepherd’s House, a Transitional Housing facility for mothers with young children under the age of eight, to ensure efficient and effective delivery of the highest quality transitional and support services for previously homeless women. Services to clients are intended to aid them in improving their social, economic, cultural or educational status Responsibilities include providing intake functions, coordination of program activities; development and implementation of specialized programming such as job placement and retention, family budgeting, enforcement of policies and guidelines set by the program for residents; facilitate communication between residents, case manger and Program Coordinator to ensure the provision of quality services. Children’s Services Manager

Harbor House of Central Florida seeks an experienced Manager for its year-round shelter based child care and afterschool programs.  Harbor House serves children from infant to through pre-kindergarten in its child care program. The afterschool program serves school aged children. The capacity of the current Children’s Center is 16 infants/children. Harbor House will soon complete construction of a 10,600 square foot Education Center that will offer expanded child care and afterschool services beginning in Winter 2010 to serve 60-70 children (30+ in childcare and 30+ in afterschool programs). Qualified applicant must have completed the forty (40) hour Introduction to Child Care Training Course, National Child Development Associate Degree (CDA) credential and director credential. At least one year experience as on site director is required.
