21 Dec 09 Christmas Meal for the Homeless in Sanford

A message from Ernest Hamilton, Executive Director, Rescue Outreach Mission of Sanford:

Rescue Outreach Mission will have it’s Annual Christmas meal for the Homeless and needy on Thursday, December 24, 2009 in the Dinning Hall located in the Men’s Division which is located at 1701 West 13th Street, Sanford, FL 32771.

Meals will be served at 11 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

03 Aug 09 Mandatory Volunteer Orientation Today – Sanford Stand Down

All volunteers must attend training on Monday, August 3, 2009 at either 12pm-1pm or 6:30pm-7:30pm at the Disabled American Veterans chapter site. Volunteers will receive their task assignments and a t-shirt during check-in on the day of the Stand Down, Saturday, August 8, 2009.

Anyone volunteering for Saturday’s Veterans Stand Down must attend either one of two training sessions today,  Monday, August 3, 2009. The first session runs from 12pm-1pm The second session runs from 6:30pm-7:30pm.

09 Jul 09 Volunteers Needed – Veterans Stand Down – Sanford, FL – August 8, 2009

Seminole County is holding its first Veterans Stand Down on Saturday, August 8, 2009, through a partnership with the Homeless Services Network of Central Florida and the Veterans Administration. Veterans Stand Down events are similar to HSN’s Project Homeless Connect events, but targeted specifically at the needs of homeless veterans.  About 40 service agencies will be at the event in Sanford which is anticipated to serve more than 125 homeless veterans with meals, showers, food bags, clothing, employment opportunities, shelters, medical care, IDs and other essential services.
