What is Rapid Rehousing?
Rapid Rehousing, or RRH, is a time-limited intervention designed to quickly move families and individuals out of homelessness and into permanent housing. In our community, CoC-FL 507, RRH programs are available for families with minor children and unaccompanied youth ages 18-24. Participants receiving services in the program are provided with case management, housing location assistance and temporary rental assistance.
The goals for rapid rehousing, or RRH, are to help families obtain housing quickly, increase self-sufficiency and stay housed. Rapid rehousing supports are implemented using best practices such as, Housing First, trauma informed care, and motivational interviewing.
RRH program providers are encouraged to be creative and flexible in their partnerships with families. In this community, we believe that families are the leaders and we empower them to direct their services and supports while on their housing journey.
